Down to Earth Romance

This is what the beach looks like offseason. I love it this way.

With temperatures in the 70’s and early fall sunshine to warm us, my husband and I take our chairs, a book, and our lunch to the beach and relax by the water. We wear shorts, long-sleeved tee shirts, and hoodies and tuck our feet in the sand. Suntan lotion is optional, there’s no sweating in the hot sun, and no umbrella to carry.

When I took this picture October 7 there were only a handful of people relaxing on the beach. The seagulls outnumbering us rested on the sand, too. I think we were all happy the crush crowds of summer had moved on.
